FAQ

Q: How can I sign up for your newsletter to get notices of available kittens and adults?
A: You can sign up HERE. I send about 2-4 newsletters out per year.

Q: Do you have social media?
A: Yes! You can follow us at any or all of the following pages;
FacebookInstagramTik Tok

Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located in SE Michigan close to Toledo, Ohio just over the state line.

Q: How long have you been a breeder?
A:
We started out as show breeders of dogs. We are now retired from showing dogs and now only have Siberians. We have 24+ years of breeding experience, with most of that being in dogs but a lot of my experience crosses over in regards to the care and rearing of kitten neonates.

Q: How often do you have kittens available?
A: We are a small home cattery with our cats living in our home as family pets. We generally have a 2 – 3 litters per year.

Q: Do you sell kittens for showing or breeding?
A: No, all of our kittens are only available to companion homes only and cannot be used for breeding. We are also a closed cattery and do not offer our males for stud service.

Q: If I am interested in a kitten from you what do I need to do?
A: If we have a kitten available that you are interested in, we ask that you fill out our Inquiry Form completely. We will then contact you with more details. The other option (highly recommended) is to join our reservation waiting list. (Please read more on how to join below).

Q: Do you keep a waiting list for upcoming litters?
A:
We accept a limited number of reservations for our waiting list a shortly before planned litters. The non-refundable fee to join the list is $200 which is applied to the cost of a kitten and applicable to a kitten of a specified sex or either sex, but not specific colors or markings. If we can’t provide a kitten of the chosen sex within a year, we will refund your fee in full. Once a kitten is available, you’ll need to pay the remaining $200 of the full $400 deposit within 72 hours and then the remaining balance cost of the kitten is paid upon pickup. If you decline an available kitten of your requested sex, your waiting list fee is forfeited. Reservations are first-come, first-served, based on fee receipt.

If we have a litter with available kittens that are not reserved by our waiting list, we will make those kittens available to reserve with a deposit. Deposits are accepted around 4-6 weeks old and are $400 non-refundable.

Q: What if I place a waiting list fee or deposit down on a kitten and then change my mind or life circumstances prevent me from buying the kitten?
A: All deposits and/or waiting list fees are non-refundable. The only exception to this would be if you reserved a specific kitten and something happened to where we wouldn’t be comfortable selling it (ie; the kitten became ill, injured, or died). If you change your mind or life circumstances get in the way, while this is unfortunate, your deposit will be forfeited. We end up turning away a number of inquiries once a kitten is reserved and it can take time to find just the right home for each kitten. A deposit will not be applied to a future litter.

Q: If I place a deposit for a specific kitten can I change to a different kitten in the same litter or a different litter if there is another kitten available?
A: We no longer allow switching to a different kitten. To switch, you must forfeit the original deposit and place a new one. If you are on our reservation list the fee you pay applies to the first available kitten of your preferred sex offered to you within a year. If we have more than one kitten in the sex you prefer available for you to choose from we will let you know. If you decline a kitten offered to you, the fee is forfeited and you are removed from the list.

Q: Do you offer a discount if I purchase 2 kittens at the same time?
A: Yes! We offer $100 discount when purchasing 2 kittens at the same time.

Q: Once I have reserved a kitten what’s next?
A: Until it’s time for your kitten to go home, we will share weekly photos of your kitten. We do this usually by posting photos and/or videos on our social media pages. We find this to be the easiest way for you to receive photos and updates. If you don’t use Facebook, Instagram or Tik Tok we can send photos (but not video) via e-mail. Your kitten will be ready to go home around 12-14 weeks old and we’ll keep you updated as to what the going home date will be.

Q: What if I cannot pick up the kitten on the scheduled pick up date?
A.
The kitten pick up date will be given to you before you choose to reserve a kitten. Please make sure the date works for you before reserving a kitten. If you later find that the pick up date won’t work for you we can reschedule the pick up at a later date not to exceed a 2 week period as long as we don’t have plans that would prevent us from offering a later pickup (ie; such as vacation as an example). You will be charged a fee of $20 per day for up to 14 days. After 14 days if the kitten is not picked up you will forfeit any reservation deposit monies and the kitten will be made available to another family.

Q: Have your cats had genetic health tests done?
A: All of our adult breeding cats are either tested or out of health tested bloodlines. Our goals are obviously to breed only the healthiest kittens possible. With that in mind, you have to remember that these are living beings and as such, we only have so much control over genetic anomalies. The good news is that Siberians on a whole are a pretty health breed.

Q: Are your kittens hypoallergenic?
A:
Siberians are a breed that are known to have lower levels of the Fel d 1 protein in their saliva that triggers allergies. However, that doesn’t mean they are 100% hypoallergenic and I’d advise to be careful buying a kitten advertised as such as that may not be the case. We cannot guarantee that people with allergies won’t have an allergic reaction to a Siberian.

Q: Do you test levels of Fel d 1 proteins in kittens?
A: No. Here is why. First, it’s very expensive. The last I heard was $500-$600 per test. Second, we don’t breed with the main purpose of solely catering to individuals with allergies. While Siberians can have lower levels of the protein it’s still not a guarantee that a buyer wouldn’t have a reaction. We have a family member that has cat allergies and they do fine. However, if they were to pet one of our cats for awhile and then touch their eye, it may get itchy.  While if they pet one of our other cats and touch their eye, they don’t react at all. Their reaction is considered mild. The bottom line is that allergies vary so much from person to person and cat to cat.

Q: Do you offer fur samples so I can test for allergic reaction?
A: No, because it’s a unreliable method of determining allergic reactions.

Q: What age do you let the kittens go to their new homes?
A: Generally around 12 – 14 weeks old.

Q: Do you offer a health warranty?
A:
Yes, we offer a replacement warranty for genetic defects until the kitten is 1 year old.

Q: Do you offer starter health insurance for my new kitten?
A: Yes! We offer 30 days of health insurance through that is no upfront cost to you. This is immediate coverage. You can choose to just use it only 30 days or continue the insurance beyond that. I will share how to activate your insurance before you pick up your kitten.

Q: Do you offer shipping?
A:  Depending on how far and our availability we may be able to deliver your kitten to your door for a fee or meet you part way. We don’t offer any sort of shipping such as ground transporters (other than us) or via airlines.

Q: Can I come for a visit to meet the kittens?
A: No. We do not let people come to visit and there are a few reasons why:
1. Visitors can unknowingly bring in diseases and expose our kittens.
2. Other breeders have had incidents of theft via people coming under the guise of visiting.
3. It’s disruptive. This is our family home and we are busy people and as you can imagine having a number of other families visiting can be quite time consuming. We do however, post a lot of photos and videos of our kittens and cats on our social media pages for people to see.

Q: Can I breed the companion kitten I bought from you?
A: No. All companion kittens are sold strictly as pets. No breeding is allowed.

Q: How much are your kittens?
A: On average our kittens cost between $1,900 -$2,400 depending on the sex and color. Some more rare colors or rare marked kittens may be higher priced.
